Latina Mentoring Academy

Connecting Latinas with the community through a formal mentoring and professional skill-set development classes

The Hispanic Chamber of Columbus is proud to be the first organization in the state of Ohio to offer a formal mentoring and professional development program geared to Latina women.

lma1The Latina Mentoring Academy (LMA) is a 14 week program where Latinas develop personal and professional skills to help launch them towards the path of success. Whether it be in a corporate or entrepreneurial setting, LMA is a combination of classroom-style professional workshops and one-on-one mentoring. This unique blend allows the mentees to build deeper relationships not only with their mentors but build peer-to-peer relationships as well.

The classroom setting provides clearly focused workshop topics and discussions topics that pertain to the life of Latin women. One-on-one mentoring allows the mentees to receive advice and guidance from the prior week’s lesson as well as connect with a mentor who is well established in their career and community.

LMA has so much to offer!

By adding a community involvement component in this inaugural class, the mentees will have the opportunity to participate in a community service project partnering with the City of Columbus - Mayor Michael B. Coleman’s New Americans Initiative and the Hispanic Chamber of Columbus to execute the 2010 Hispanic Heritage Month luncheon kick-off and unveiling of the calendar.
