POSITION: Housekeeper

DEPARTMENT: Operations

REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper/Operations Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/ Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Housekeeper at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The Housekeeper is responsible for participating in the day-to-day functions of performing various physical tasks, as well as cleaning and maintaining the facility and provide housekeeping tasks as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

• Maintains a safe and clean environment
• Cleans restrooms, offices and public areas
• Vacuuming ,sweeping , mopping
• Shampooing carpets as assigned or needed
• Dusting flat surfaces
• Operates basic electrical cleaning equipment
• Cleans exterior and interior entrance door glass
• Maintains carpet care
• Works on special projects as needed
• Cleans building entrances and concourse
• Ability to read and understand simple English
• Cleans and maintains cleaning equipment
• Disposes of all waste, including bulk trash removal from building in all areas
• Attends and conforms to all policies established by ASM Global in the successful performance of this position.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous and polite manner. This will include initiating contact with guests within 10 feet – i.e. smiling, saying “Good Day” or offering assistance when needed.
• Must feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest, as needed
• Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of “The Magic is in the Details”
• Must obtain and maintain employer sponsored Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) certification, if applicable.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  
  Education and/or Experience:
  Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Prior conventions and/or event experience in an arena, convention center or other similar public assembly facility preferred.

Skills/Aptitudes:

Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with minimal supervision. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work well in a team environment, alone, or with or without direct supervision. Good verbal communication skills. Must possess the ability to follow written and or verbal instruction.
